Maintenance Tips For All Carpets
The primary rule for keeping your carpet clean may be obvious but it is regular vacuuming. This will eliminate any loose remains and dirt that can become fixed in your carpet. Vacuuming your carpet is a quick and easy fix, however, some situations require more work. Most carpets will be subject to spills and stains at some point if this does happen, it is important to attend the situation immediately. The first thing you need to do is to get a damp cloth and blot the affected area, never rub! Rubbing will push the spillage further into the carpet fibres making it harder to remove. When blotting the area, be sure you work your way from the edges in, this will avoid spreading the stain.
We recommend that you get your carpet cleaned professionally at least once or twice a year. If you want to do it yourself, you can hire a steam cleaner. At Floors To You, we understand that all carpets are different. Certain carpets require much more maintenance while some are very easy to maintain. We have put together a guide on the best way to keep your particular carpet clean.

Solution Dyed Nylon Maintenance
Solution Dyed Nylon is one of the most durable options on the market. This carpet can survive strong cleaning products, therefore making it extremely easy to look after. However, it is always recommended to pre-test any cleaning chemicals on a small part of your carpet to ensure it does not negatively affect the functionality and appearance of your carpet. After cleaning the spill, make sure you dry the area. If you do not thoroughly dry the area, the cleaning products can leave a sticky residue, which will entice staining.
Carpet Tiles Maintenance
Carpet tiles can endure unforgiving products. In saying that, if you leave spills on your carpet for a long period of time, this will make it much harder to eliminate. As always, pre-test any cleaning products on a small-unseen area of your carpet to prevent any damage or colour loss. If any damage does happen, carpet tiles make it easy to eradicate and replace, making this the ideal option for commercial locations.
Polypropylene carpet is hardwearing, easy to maintain and an exceedingly stain resistant carpet.
